Cosmetic Acupuncture

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture (FEA) also known as cosmetic acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture is the anti-ageing, non-surgical face-lift, and skin revitalising treatment. A natural alternative to cosmetic surgery, chemical peels, and Botox® fillers.

If you want to present the best possible version of yourself as you age gracefully, then facial acupuncture is for you.

With Facial Acupuncture, we will help improve those wrinkles, lift the face, and help to eradicate those laughter lines around the eyes.

How does it work?

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture works in several ways. Facial points are used to activate specific muscles of the face and neck to lift, improve muscle tone and increase circulation of blood and lymph. Tiny needles are inserted into frown lines and wrinkles, causing a micro-trauma that stimulates the body to produce collagen to gently fill out the line.

During the treatment I will also needle constitutional points on your legs, arms and body; these are the points that will help to balance and harmonise your inner elements, promote general health and reduce stress to give that well rested, bright-eyed glow.

You are left to relax for approximately 20 minutes and to complete the treatment I apply serum and moisturisers with massage techniques to further boost circulation and make the complexion radiant. Arnica and a cooling jade roller complete the treatment.

Studies published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture in 1996 showed that: “…of 300 people who received Facial Acupuncture, 90% demonstrated marked results after only their first treatment.”

Treatment Frequency

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture is most effective after a course of 6 - 10 treatments and results are gradual rather than dramatic. Most patients notice a facial change after 3-4 treatments although lasting changes are common around the 7th to 8th treatments.

Treatments are most effective when taken once or twice weekly, on a regular basis. Although emergencies and missed appointments do happen, it is not recommended to leave more than two weeks between treatments where possible. After a course of treatment, monthly maintenance treatments can ‘top-up’ the results.

To ensure all available time is used for your treatment, you are asked to arrive for your appointment with a clean face. It is also advisable to wait a few hours after treatment before applying face make-up. Mineral powder is a kinder option to the skin if this is unavoidable.
